Collage of Wetland projects in Utah

Utah has lost 30% of its original wetlands; less than 1% of Utah’s total land area is wetlands. The Mitigation Commission is acquiring and restoring critical wetlands that can mitigate, or help make up for, Central Utah Project impacts to wetland riverine systems.

The Commission's programs at the Utah and Great Salt Lakes involves land acquisition, restoring acquired lands, fish habitat improvement and riparian restoration. To achieve measurable improvements, the Commission is coordinating with many communities and interests.
